Cost: ~1200/mo (not sure though its been a few years since we've had one) This is the setup most universities have for their Bloomberg. There is no remote access, and all data downloaded from Bloomberg is supposed to remain on said computer. There can be multiple users per terminal, but only one logged in at a time. Cost: $1800/Monthīloomberg Terminal - This is a bloomberg license tied to a physical computer. It is tied to one user, who is fingerprint verified (hard limit of 8 24hour overrides per month, 4 of which are automatic, then its a phone call with a live rep for the last 4). It can be logged in anywhere from any computer or mobile device. Gives you full access to the bloomberg terminal. Does anyone here work for Bloomberg or know anyone that does? Maybe you could put this request into the grapevine and see what comes out?īloomberg provides two primary services (Note this is from my view as a User in the financial sector):īloomberg Anywhere - You get a b-unit and a keyboard. Hopefully there is such a service or the possibility for such a "sponsorship" as my topic seems to be one for which there has been virtually no research done. My question would be the following: is there any way to get a Bloomberg keyboard for a temporary basis so that way I can install and use Bloomberg on my own private machine at home? Does Bloomberg provide any "sponsorship" service like this for students? I've seen on the Bloomberg Professional website that they apparently have a program for universities to acquire terminals for students but unfortunately I study at a technical uni and there are no terminals there. This isn't so much of a problem except for the fact that it means sitting in the office until the wee hours of the night in order to gather data for my paper. I'm currently working on my bachelor's thesis at the moment and while I have access to a Bloomberg terminal at my place of work, I can only use the terminal in the evenings.
